January + February recap

Hey everyone, I decided I wanted to start a blog about our little crew so I could share all of the fun things we do with our close family + friends, and so that I can look back on all of our memories. Should be interesting to say the least... if you know, you know.

Matt & I actually started off our New Year at one of my best friends weddings! It was so beautiful & actually at the same venue we had our reception at. She looked so gorgeous & we had the best time celebrating (kidless) & hanging out with my parents.

New Years Day we woke up & spent the entire day with the kids. We made pork + sauerkraut (aka hotdogs + sauerkraut) for lunch, played all day & ended it with Hoppin' John for dinner. We are trying to keep that luck going for 2020!

Arie turned 4 months & started eating baby food, which is a huge deal! Our boy loves to eat..if you can't tell. He would eat sweet potatoes + bananas all day if we'd let him. His cheeks are UNREAL and I secretly want them to stay that way forever. The twins are equally obsessed with him as we are.  They also always ask for another "baby" when Arie is a little older, & "get a girl next time." HA. I'll have to put my order in with the Big Guy. and the other guy, too I guess...Matt is not sold on having any more kids. We'll see what God has in store for us over the next few years. If Arie is my last little baby, that's ok with me. He is pure JOY. The absolute perfect caboose to our crazy train.

Matt travels a lot for work, so a lot of the time it's just the 3 boys and I. We've actually become accustom to this lifestyle, although we all hate when he leaves us. He's a hard worker + we are so proud of him, but we selfishly would love to keep him with us 24/7. So, when he is home, we like to make the most of it. Whether it's just hanging at the house playing all day with the kids or going on some sort of adventure somewhere.

So, while Matt was in an airport waiting to board a flight to come home, he told me he had a meeting in New Jersey the next morning, I took it upon myself to see how far his meeting was from Ocean City (our favorite place on earth). It was only about an hour, so I asked if we could tag along & head to the shore just for the day. He surprised us & booked a place for the weekend, so I frantically packed all 3 kids and myself up at midnight so we could leave before 7am the next morning. If you know me at all, you know I am a huge planner. I like to have plans far in advance. Matt has always brought out the spontaneity in me. And for that, I am thankful.

We had the best time in OC together. Arie's first time seeing the ocean & the boys love it there. They even tried to take their shoes off on the beach so they could start building sandcastles....it was like maybe 30 degrees. If they could spend all day outside, they would. No matter what the weather is like. We went to the aquarium, ate at a bunch of our favorite places, walked the boardwalk, went to the zoo, & walked around Cape May. It was a perfect little getaway & we were back home in time to make wings & pinwheels to watch the Super Bowl at my parents house.

Matt traveled most of February, & our house got hit with sickness....nonstop. We made some fun out of it though. The kids & I celebrated Valentines Day with my parents (aren't they lucky...lol) since Matt was in California for work. We ordered out and popped some Champagne! I can always count on my parents...they didn't want their poor daughter to be alone that day. lol we always have a good time together...we are a super close family & I wouldn't want it any other way!

Arie got his first TWO teeth. I can't even believe it. And the twins had their picture day. They looked SO old & handsome. I'm going to be in some serious trouble when these 3 are in high school. I also registered them for KG. Don't get me started...... *cue the tears*

We ended the month by packing up again & heading to Philly for the weekend. We went to the Academy of Natural Sciences & walked around all weekend exploring the city. It was so fun. Their favorite part was the Dinosaur exhibit... mine was Rothman Cabin outside of the City Hall skating rink. Beer & mini cheesesteaks.........can you blame me?
